Need a hand, found a bug, or want a word added to the dictionary? Email hello@textmojify.com and a real person will get back to you. The answers below cover the most common questions first.

How do I turn text into emoji?

Type your message with whatever keyboard you are fastest at. When you want to mojify it, switch to the TextMojify keyboard and tap the big Mojify button. Your whole message gets rewritten in place. You can also open the TextMojify app and translate directly inside it, then copy the result.

How does the iMessage app work? (iOS)

The iMessage app is an iOS feature. Open a chat in Messages, tap the apps row next to the text field, and pick TextMojify. The Translate tab lets you type a message and see a live emoji preview, then tap Insert to drop it straight into the conversation. The Recent tab keeps a grid of your latest translations so you can send a favorite again in one tap. It all runs on your device. On Android, use the TextMojify keyboard (below) to mojify in any app.

How do I add the TextMojify keyboard?

On iOS: open Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard, then choose TextMojify. To switch to it while typing, tap and hold the globe key on your keyboard and select TextMojify. The keyboard does not need Full Access to do its job.

On Android: open Settings → System → Languages & input → On-screen keyboard → Manage keyboards, then turn on TextMojify. While typing, tap the keyboard switch button (usually in the corner of the keyboard or the navigation bar) and pick TextMojify. Android does not show a Full Access prompt; the keyboard is enabled purely by your opt-in. Exact menu names vary a little by device and Android version.

How do I decode emoji back into words?

Open the app and use Decode mode. Paste an emoji string and TextMojify turns it back into plain English. Decode honors any custom entries you have added, so your own mappings round-trip correctly.

How do I change themes?

Themes change how words map to emoji. Pirate mode ships first (for example “are” becomes a pirate flag and the whole crew shifts). Pick a theme from the theme picker in the app. More themes are on the way.

Does TextMojify work offline?

Yes. The translator runs entirely on your phone and never makes a network request to do its work, so it works on a plane, on the subway, or anywhere with no signal.

A word did not translate. Can you add it?

The dictionary is hand-curated, so some words and phrases are not in it yet. Send the word or phrase to hello@textmojify.com and we will consider it for a future update. Real usage is exactly how we decide what to add next.

Is the app really free?

Yes. The whole app is free, with no paywall and no “premium” tier hiding the good emojis. There is an optional Tip Jar if you want to drop a coffee in to say thanks, but nothing is gated behind it.

I tipped by mistake. Can I get a refund?

Tips are processed by whichever app store you bought from, so refunds are handled there, not by us.

On iOS (Apple): visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, and request the refund there.

On Android (Google Play): open the Play Store, go to Menu → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history, pick the tip, and choose Report a problem to request a refund. You can also do this at play.google.com/store/account. Google often approves refunds requested within 48 hours.

If you run into any trouble, email us and we will help however we can.

What data does TextMojify collect?

The short version: the app collects anonymous usage analytics tied to a random install ID, never to you, and it does not read your messages, contacts, or location. The full details, including what we log and how to opt out, are on our Privacy Policy page.

Age rating

TextMojify is intended for users 18 and over. The dictionary includes a large collection of mature internet slang and humor.
